At Prime’ we use the ‘CSEP Physical Activity Training for Health’ assessment to help our clients find their base physical fitness.
This is a test that is used by the justice institute of BC as a part of their entrance to the firefighting programs. The CSEP-PATH has a scoring system that measures your fitness scores against your gender and age category of Canada’s general population.
The CSEP-PATH includes pre-testing screening, and clinical measurements of physical activity participation, metabolic fitness, body composition, aerobic fitness, musculoskeletal fitness, and back fitness.
The test takes an average of 2 hours to complete. Upon completion of this assessment, you will receive a summary of your current physical health-related fitness.
The CSEP-PATH includes the following assessments:
Baseline Measurements
Resting Heart Rate
Resting Blood Pressure
Anthropometric Measurements
Height & Weight
BMI – Body Mass Index
WC – Waist Circumference
Aerobic Fitness
Cardiovascular evaluation (sub-maximal test of aerobic fitness with a predicted VO2 max) using the beep test
10 & 20 yard sprint
Musculoskeletal Fitness
Push-ups (muscular endurance)
Vertical Jump (peak leg power)
3 rep strength (Hex Bar Deadlift + Bench Press + Overhead Press + Leg Press)
Grip Strength
Sit and Reach (lower back / hamstring flexibility)
- Functional Capacity Evaluation / Functional Movement Screen
